  • Housing and Meals: All students housed in apartments in central Budapest, with options to choose among one-, two-, and three- bedroom apartments. Students are directly responsible for paying rent to their landlords, but the apartments are pre-selected (and the contracts reviewed and translated to English) by AIT staff. Italy

Students who are approved and nominated by the Study Abroad Committee to study on the Bologna Consortial Studies are accepting a place on the program and must make a commitment to attend, provided that they are accepted by the program. The Dean’s Office will forward the names of all nominated students to Bologna Consortial Studies. In addition, students will receive application instructions from the Dean’s Office to complete the Bologna Consortial Studies application online.

  • Fields of Study: All students are required to take a double course call the Ancient City. Students then choose the remaining two courses from the following, including one Greek or Latin course: Intermediate or Advanced Latin; Intermediate Greek or Advanced Greek; Renaissance and Baroque Art History; or Elementary Italian (no other level of Italian is available).
  • Housing and Meals: Students live together at the Center, which has doubles and triples, a library, offices, dining rooms, a kitchen, and a small garden. Three meals a day are provided, Monday through Friday. Other meals are at individual student's expense.

Apartments are within walking distance of ISI facilities, and have wireless Internet connection. Meals are self-catered. Alternatively, students can dine at the Università di Firenze cafeteria, which offers low-price meals and is conveniently located in the heart of town. The ISI student ID card is also valid for discounts at many trattorias, and pizzerias, around the city. 
  • Registering for Courses: Most courses at ISI Florence are worth three to five credits. This means students must take approximately three to five courses per semester. Students must take between 15 to 16 credits per semester to be enrolled as a full-time student at ISI Florence in order to earn four units transfer credits at Bryn Mawr. All students are required to take the Italian Language course (4 credits) during the for Fall and Spring semester only. Applying to study abroad is a two-step process during your sophomore year.  First, you must apply for BMC approval to study abroad by the required deadline.  Next, when you have received approval through BMC, you must apply for admission to the program of your choice.
